Assessment Security
Safeguard the security of
TerraNova, Third Edition,
Multiple Assessments
and CAT Plus by following these procedures:
1. Each School Assessment Coordinator and Site Administrator must sign
the DoDEAAssessment Security Form by October 1 of each year and
follow the procedures for test security found in the DoDEA System-wide
Assessment Program Regulation 2000.06.
2. Keep all assessment materials, including paper and CD-ROM versions,
in a locked location.
3. Distribute assessment materials to teachers/assessment administrators
prior to the start of testing each day and collect all assessment
materials immediately following testing each day. Teachers/assessment
administrators and students are not allowed to have knowledge of test
items prior to or during the test administration.
4. CD-ROM versions of assessments are to be installed only by individuals
identified as assessment coordinators to assist in this process. These
persons are often the Assistive Technology Specialists.
5. Do not allow electronic devices of any kind in the testing area. This includes
cell phones, digital cameras, handheld scanners, pagers, or games.
6. All completed answer documents, student books, Group Information
Sheets, and School Group Lists are to be returned to CTB via a traceable
shipping method that is traceable from shipping point to delivery point.
7. Do NOT return Test Directions for Teachers.
8. Once the assessment window is over, inventory and store all unused
student books, Test Directions for Teachers, and Kurzweil CD-ROMs
in a locked location.
9. Report violations of assessment preparation or administration practices
to the District Superintendent, who will forward them to the Area
Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment.
