Checklist for

This Quick Checklist provides the essential tasks to be accomplished prior to, during, and following the
assessment at each school. Refer to the indicated pages in this manual for the complete information for
each task.
Prior to the Assessment
(pages 5–8)
Review Schedule of Important Events (inside front cover).
Prepare your school’s assessment schedule.
Announce assessment dates.
Our school’s assessment dates are:

Inventory your shipment from CTB McGraw-Hill (CTB). Request additional
materials, if needed (pages 2, 6–7).
Photocopy the Teacher/Assessment Administrator’s Quick Assessment Checklist
(pages iv–v) and distribute to teachers/assessment administrators in preparation for
a workshop on administering the assessment.
Conduct a workshop with teachers/assessment administrators to familiarize them with
the use of the Test Directions for Teachers, Teacher/Assessment Administrator’s Quick
Assessment Checklist (pages iv–v), and Assessment Security procedures (page 3).
Organize assessment materials (pages iv–v) for distribution to classrooms.
Check accuracy of precoded Student Information Forms (pages ii, v, and 29–30).
Collaborate with Child Services Committee (CSC) chairperson to identify students
with accommodations (pages 10–20).
Review the types of identified accommodations (pages 12–21) with the CSC chairperson
in advance to determine what will be required.
Complete Special Codes Fields (page 33). Please read page 33 carefully to ensure
appropriate coding of these fields. Miscoding of these fields will bring about
misleading reports.
Supervise the administration of the Practice Activities according to the
TerraNova,
Third Edition
Multiple Assessments Practice Activities Directions.
Ensure that certified educators are responsible for administering the assessments.
Noncertified employees may
not
administer the assessments. Noncertified employees
may assist with the monitoring of the administration of the assessments in the
classroom. However, they may not be a parent of any student being tested in that
classroom or grade.
