Membranophones

Non-Western membranophones are a good example of using local materials to create an instrument. Here, we can see a stretched goat skin. When it’s dried, it will be stretched across a wooden drum head to create an instrument such as a djembe. This also helps make sure that no part of an animal is wasted when slaughtered.
