Chrodophones
Chordophones generate sound through vibrating strings. String instruments are usually played by moving a bow across the strings, plucking with fingers or a pick, or striking them. Two Western string instruments are the violin and cello. Modern violins are made of wood and not all are hand-crafted. In the past, violin strings were made of stretched catgut. Modern violin strings are crafted from nylon or synthetic materials.
