Drypoint
Drypoint is another intaglio process. Similar to engraving, a sharp tool known as a stylus is used to create recessed areas in a metal plate. As the metal tool is pulled across, it creates burrs, or ridges of metal, on the plate. This creates a softer result after inking, as opposed to the hard lines generated by engraving.
