Parallelograms: Introduction
Have you ever thought about becoming an interior designer? Interior designers work with clients to create a space (a bedroom, an office, a kitchen) that is not only functional and meets the needs of the people who will use the space, but is also attractive. Interior design is all about what is pleasing to the eye. Often certain patterns are used that repeat a shape over and over. In the image above, a parallelogram is used. This is pleasing to the eye because opposite sides are congruent and parallel. The shapes fit nicely together, making the pattern simple. In this section we are going to study the properties of parallelograms and by the end of the section, you will be able to see why these fit so nicely together.
