Symmetry of an Ellipse

The ellipse has line symmetry at the major and minor axes. This means that these axes split the ellipse into equal parts.

Look at the following graph.

The blue line represents x = 2 and runs through the minor axis. The green line represents y = 3 and runs through the major axis. These lines are both axes of symmetry.
