Hyperbolas: Introduction
Did you know that a ship’s position in the water is determined from time differences among radio signals received from three stations that are located at the foci of two different hyperbolas that share one foci. Also, a telescope lens can either be parabolic or hyperbolic? In this section we will be discussing hyperbolas, how they are graphed, their symmetry, and how to write equations of hyperbolas.
