Since you are already given the slope, you do not need to find it. The next step is to plug in the values that you do have into the point-slope form.

y – y1 = m(x – x1)
y – 4 = 3(x – 1)
y – 4 = 3x – 3 
y = 3x + 1

Therefore, the final equation is y = 3x + 1.
