¿Dónde estás?

You've already learned to ask someone, "How are you?" by saying ¿Cómo estás? Can you guess, then, what ¿Dónde estás? means? It means, "Where are you?" Let's practice saying that we are at different places in the town. Estar is the verb we are going to use and it is not regular, that is, not like the other -ar verbs you've seen. Look at the sentences and then you can fill in the verb chart yourself.

Yo estoy en la escuela. Mi papá está en la iglesia. Mis amigos están en el parque el sábado. Mi mamá está en el supermercado. Mis amigos y yo estamos en la clase. ¿Dónde estás tú?

Even though estar is irregular, it does change somewhat according to a pattern. You've already seen a few of the forms of this verb. See if you can put the correct forms in our chart:

Estar= to be

yo nosotros
vosotros

usted
ella
él

ustedes
ellas
ellos

Remember that only "yo" and "nosotros" do not have accent marks.
