¿Adónde vas?
Talking about where you're going is another thing you will want to do a great deal in your new language. "Ir" is the verb "to go" and is another irregular one. Read the passage in Spanish and then see if you can fill in the chart correctly with the verb forms.
Yo voy a la farmacia cuando necesito comprar medicina. Voy al hospital cuando necesito hablar con el doctor. Mi papá va a México en octubre. Nosotros vamos a la biblioteca cuando necesitamos leer y estudiar. Mis amigos van al parque porque les gusta correr. Mi mamá y yo vamos al supermercado los viernes porque necesitamos comprar mucho. Mi profesora de español va a España en junio.

Listen to the forms of "ir" here. Be sure to repeat after the speaker:
Ir = to go |
yo | voy | nosotros | vamos |
tú | vas | vosotros | vais |
usted ella él |
va | ustedes ellas ellos |
van |
¿Adónde or dónde?
You probably noticed that these two words seem to be the same, yet they are not identical. It is not a typographical error. The forms of "ir" or “to go” are generally always followed by "a" (like ”to” in English) as we are going to see in the next practice activity. This means that when you ask the question that is going to use "ir" (or any of its forms), you also see that little "a" in the question: adónde or “to where.”
