Lines and the Coordinate Plane: The Coordinate Plane

The Distance Formula

Each segment on a coordinate plane is identified by the coordinates of its endpoints. For example, if A(3, 7) and B(-2, 5) are the endpoints of segment AB, then we not only can determine the position and direction of AB, also can we calculate its length.
