Air traffic controllers have to keep track of planes in the sky to make certain that they stay on course.  Pinpointing the exact location of each plane and tracing its flight path is crucial to the safety of the passengers and crew.  In geometry, we graph points on the coordinate plane to give exact locations.  We can also graph lines, much like the flight paths that planes follow.
