Assemblage
The fourth sculptural process is assemblage, or the assembling of pieces to produce an artwork. Contemporary artists have selected diverse items to assemble from a piece of wood to rubber tires and a stuffed goat, as seen in this photograph of Robert Rauschenberg’s Monogram. In this combine, (a combination of three dimensional objects arranged into collage form to express a meaning), Rauschenberg caught the attention of the art world.
