Methods of Constructing Sculpture

Traditionally, there are four methods of constructing sculpture: modeling, carving, casting, and assemblage. Sculptors have a variety of media to select from when utilizing these methods. Traditional media consist of clay, marble, and wood. However, modern artists began to use found objects, literally things found, such as boxes and discarded items (garbage) to create their 3-D artwork.
