As the vending machine asks the question, ¿tienes sed?, we are going to learn of other beverages we might like to drink if we are thirsty. This vending machine is in Mérida, Mexico, on the Yucatán Península. American brands are very commonly seen in Mexico and other Spanish-speaking countries, though most countries also have their own national brands which are equally popular. In Mexico, for example, you might drink Peñafiel or Jarritos, two Mexican brands of soft drinks which come in a variety of flavors.

You might also notice the price of the Coke products as shown on this vending machine. The price shown is in Mexican currency--the peso. When the picture was taken, that would have been the equivalent of about sixty-five cents in dollars.
