Key concepts Pronouns

In Japanese, we have pronouns, but many times, we tend to use person’s name instead of pronouns. Topic (I, You, He, She, It, We They) is marked with particle は.

  • Direct object (me, you, him, her, it, us, them) is marked with particle を.
  • Indirect object (to me, to you, to him, to her, to it, to us, to them, to it) is marked with particle に.

Japanese pronouns are rather easy compared to some other languages. In many cases, we tend to omit the part when it is understood by the context.
