Let's compare the animals now.

		ちゃいろのねこは　くろいねこよりきれいです。 （茶色の猫は　黒い猫より綺麗です。）.
		あかいとりは　あおいとりより　きれいです。 （赤い鳥は　青い鳥より　綺麗です。）
		ちいさいいぬは、ほかのいぬより　きれいです。 （小さい犬は　他の犬より綺麗です。）

Let’s see these also…

		かも　くもも　おなじくらい　みにくいです。 （蚊も　蜘蛛も　同じくらい　醜いです。）
		いぬは　くまより　ちいさいです。 （犬は　熊より　小さいです。）
		とかげは　りすほど　おおきくないです。(蜥蜴は、栗鼠ほど　大きくないです。)。

In order to make comparisons:

To say something is "more" (taller, more fun, etc.)		＿より Adjectiveです ＿よりAdverb Verb.
To say something is "less"		＿ほど Adjective （negative form） ＿ほどAdverb Verb (negative form)
To say something is "as (adjective) as"		＿とおなじくらいadjective　です / Adverb verb
