Parallel and Perpendicular Lines: Introduction
The capital of the United States, Washington, D.C., was designed by Pierre L’Enfant in 1791. As you can see from the map above, the streets of the city were laid out in parallel and perpendicular patterns with several interconnected streets cutting through the design. In this unit, you will learn about the properties of parallel and perpendicular lines and the transversals that cut through them.
