Measuring Segments: Introduction

How tall is a tree? How many miles do we drive? How many yards of fabric are needed to make a coat? There are countless uses for measurement in the world around us. In geometry, we also use measurement to determine the distance between points. Instead of using inches or meters, we talk about distance in terms of units on the coordinate plane. In this lesson, we’ll discuss measuring segments using a number line and absolute value.
