Welcome to Daily Life まいにちのせいかつ
We are going to talk about our daily routine--those things that we must do on a daily basis. You will learn to talk about when you do the various parts of your daily routine in this unit as well as reinforce material we have studied prior to this course.
You are probably aware of the importance of Japanese as a second language in our society. Japanese is the ninth most widely spoken language in the world, making it a very important language to know. You may be preparing for a future in any variety of fields and may want to know Japanese (or some other foreign language) in order to better equip yourself for the future. Can you think of some professions that might require one to know Japanese?
Perhaps you are thinking of....
- business fields
- tourism fields
- journalism fields
- translators or interpreters
- technology and science fields
- humanities and social science fields
A wide variety of positions will make good use of the person who has skills in a second language.
You must keep in mind that fluency in Japanese (or any foreign language) does not happen over night. It may seem to be a very slow process to you but it is one that is achieved the more you practice and seek ways to use your new skills.
