Alcohol and Dating
We have already talked about how alcohol affects our judgment and makes it hard to think clearly. The expectations that a person has of the opposite sex can be influenced by consuming alcohol.
The effects of alcohol expectations in relation to sex are such that individuals who think they are drinking alcohol will express similar responses as well. In other words, you believe that others experience the same feeling when drinking as you do.
Typically, males believe that, when women drink alcohol, they will be happier, are more confident, and will sleep better. Females on the other hand believe that men will be less sexually inhibited and be more romantic when drinking. Ideas of gender roles and how the opposite sex should respond can also lead to many complications and dating violence, especially if alcohol is involved.
