Piece It Out (1 of 4)
Drafting Phase I – Laying out the pieces (Overview)
You have all your materials, your blueprint, and your framework. Now you must begin the task of building. So get out the hammer and nails, and prepare to work up a sweat.
Before you begin, you will need your completed evidence table, thesis, hook, and clincher. You will also want to have in mind your audience, tone, and purpose.
Now, open the Drafting Table template.
The drafting table provides a sentence outline for your presentation. Again, the form your presentation will ultimately take (paper, PowerPoint, or Web Report) does not affect this step in the process.
Click each heading on the left side of the Drafting Table on the following pages to see an explanation for what information belongs in the table and to see an example. (Note: only one Support and one Evidence/Commentary section is completed in the chart below. Your completed Drafting Table, which will be turned in with your presentation, must have all 3 support sections completed with 2 or 3 evidence-commentary rows completed for each support.)
