Read Chapter 13, Voting Elections, pp 444-491 in your text before completing the rest of this section. The section activities will require that you are able to readily access the information.

For this reading assignment you should be able to:

• Compare and contrast the demographic factors that determine whether a person is likely to vote.
• Examine statistics on voter turnout.
