What Is Your Name?
Let's learn to ask what someone's name is in Japanese. Listen to each expression and see if you recognize the vocabulary below. Then check to see if you are correct.

It is common to use the last name in Japan. さん is used for anyone except yourself. To be humble, you don’t use さん for your own name.

Practice Someone's Name: Asking and Responding
Imagine that you see the following students in your new class. Ask them their name and then respond as if you were the person listed as if this were a real conversation. The first one is done for you. Make sure that you can pronounce the expression correctly by listening to each conversation.
