Lab A Overview
Overview
In Lab A, you will learn some basic functions within Adobe Photoshop; to include how to: adjust an image's orientation, crop an image, adjust an image's size (and the effects adjusting an image's size has on the file size), add a border to an image, and save a file as a .psd and a .jpg. You will find that you use these functions frequently.
Objectives
Upon completion of Lab A, students will:
- Learn how to make adjustments to an image’s orientation
- Learn about image size and how this relates to file size
- Learn about the aspect ratio of an image and tips for ensuring the ratio is the same as the image size is adjusted
- Learn how to crop an image
- Learn how to add a border to an image
- Learn how to save as .psd, which preserves layers in an image
- Learn how to save as a .jpg, which compresses layers in an image
Instructions for Completing Lab A
- Download the Lab A Photo file, Portrait.psd, by clicking the Lab A - Photo Download link in the navigation menu.
- Access the software simulations for Lab A - Parts 1, 2, and 3 by clicking the Lab A - Part 1, 2, and 3 links in the navigation menu.
- Open Adobe Photoshop and work along with the simulations.
- Modify and save the Portrait.psd file as instructed in the simulations.
- Submit the saved files in Schoology, per the M3 Lab A assignment instructions.
