Photoshop Labs

Overview

Adobe Photoshop made its debut in 1988 and to date there have been over 25 versions of the software on the market. Adobe Photoshop is a photo editing software which has grown to be the industry standard. Photoshopping has become a mainstream term for altering and/or improving digital images. In fact, the term photoshop has been added to the Merriam-Webster dictionary as a verb meaning "to alter (a digital image) with Photoshop software or other image-editing software especially in a way that distorts reality" ("Photoshop - Definition, n.d., para. 1)."

The labs in this course are designed to introduce you to a variety of Photoshop functions (from basic to advanced) and provide you a platform in which you can practice these functions in structured, guided environment. As you learn more about the individual tools and their functions you will grow more comfortable navigating the program to enhance or alter your own digital images.
