Chapter 3: Child Find
In accordance with the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), DoDEA is responsible for
locating, identifying, assessing and evaluating all school age students with suspected disabilities (from
age 3 to age 21 ). This identification process is referred to as Child Find. Child Find activities include the
dissemination of information to the public as well as screening, referral, and identification procedures.
