The examples below demonstrate types of online learning for professional development and training that support DoDEA-wide initiatives, programs, and content areas. They are accessible to participants enrolled in Schoology courses and groups.

DoDEA Coaching Model
This professional learning module is provided by the Teaching and Learning Division at DoDEA HQ for new coaches in DoDEA and focuses on a common understanding of the DoDEA Coaching Model.
As a result of engaging in this module, new coaches are now able to: identify the key elements of the DoDEA Coaching Model, provide actionable feedback in coaching, describe the GROW Model and how to use it, and engage in ongoing trio work to support the ongoing refinement of their coaching skills.

This professional learning module is provided by the Leadership Development Specialist at the Department of Defense Education Activity, Headquarters, for new DoDEA administrators. It focuses on the specific tasks in closing-out DoDEA schools in a timely, efficient manner to ensure a smooth school opening for next school year.

New Employee Orientation, Education Directorate, DoDEA HQ
The New Employee Orientation module is provided by the Instructional Design Services Branch under the Teaching and Learning Division at DoDEA HQ for current Federal employees and new to Federal Service employees arriving to the Education Directorate at DoDEA HQ.
Non-DoD Schools Program Orientation
This professional learning module is provided by the Non-DoD Schools Program Orientation Branch under the Partnership Division at DoDEA HQ. This orientation outlines the important policies, procedures, and guidelines for NDSP.
Quarterly Professional Learning from Student Services Division
The examples below are from the Education Student Services Division at DoDEA HQ for the quarterly professional learning during SY 2018-2019.
- This professional learning module is for secondary school counselors. It covers the requirement for all students in grades 7–12 to establish a 4–6 Year Academic/Postsecondary Plan (i.e., Plan of Study), identification of tools and resources within Choices360 that support DoDEA School Counselors meeting this requirement, as well as providing step-by-step instructions that ensure parents/sponsors know how to establish a Choices360 account.

- This professional learning module is school counselors, school nurses, and school psychologists. It covers the new child abuse issuance, DoDEA Administrative Instruction 1356.01: DoDEA Child Abuse Reporting Requirements.
Positive Interventions in Schools for Elementary School Counselors
- This professional learning module is for elementary school counselors. The module will focus on positive interventions to support student behavioral needs, how to use data to support your school counseling program, and ways to monitor student progress and success.
Postvention for Student Suicide
- This professional learning module is for School Psychologists. It focuses on postvention for student suicide using a redacted and annotated After Action Report (AAR).
PSB: Part 4: Recognizing, Responding To, and Reporting
- This professional learning module is for school counselors, school nurses, and school psychologists. It focuses on the key components of recognizing, responding to, and reporting problematic sexual behaviors. In addition, it examines the impact of labeling juveniles as registered sex offenders.
