Defeat of the United States
Perhaps the United States had valid reasons to wage war against the British, but they did not have the military strength to back up their threats. The United States had only a small army and navy to pit against the much larger British navy and army. Furthermore, the United States had no allies coming to assist them, while the British had the Native Americans eagerly waiting to heed the call to battle. Another factor that affected the American military was a lack of equipment and training. United States forces were easily defeated by the British when they invaded Canada during the summer of 1812.
