Welcome to Pastimes しゅみ!
The girls in the picture above practice tennis after school. There are various types of things that Japanese teenagers like to do, such as sports, music, movies, games, and so forth. In Unit Nine, we are going to learn to carry on conversations about activities that you like to do, as well as some activities that are common in Japan.
You must keep in mind that fluency in Japanese (or any foreign language) does not happen over night. It may seem to be a very slow process to you but it is one that is achieved the more you practice and seek ways to use your new skills.
In Pastime しゅみ you will:
- talk about sports and leisure time activities in Japan
- learn how to talk about what you like to do
- learn how to talk about what you do well
- learn how to invite someone for some activities
- learn how to make a phone call
As you work, keep in mind the symbols that will help you to remember what it is you are going to be doing throughout the course. If you have forgotten those, you can look back at them to keep them in mind.
