key conceptSon
We can talk about "my" things and "your" things. Now let's talk about "his/her" things.

Le frère d'Isabelle s'appelle Paul. Son frère s'appelle Paul.
La mère de Susanne travaille beaucoup. Sa mère travaille beaucoup.
Le livre du prof est intéressant. Son livre est intéressant.
La maison de Pierre est jaune. Sa maison est jaune.
Les frères de Nicole sont plus jeunes. Ses frères sont plus jeunes.
Les cousins de Cécile sont blonds. Ses cousins sont blonds.

We use "son," " sa," or "ses" to say "his," or "her." When a feminine noun begins with a vowel sound, we use "son" even though though the noun is feminine.

son amie

Practice here saying that these family members belong to the people in bold print.

Voilà les cousins d'Alice..
C'est le grand-pére de Sylvie.
Voici les oncles de Florence.
Voilà la maison de Jean-Paul .
Ce sont les livres de Jacques.
Il étudie avec le livre de Claire.
Nous travaillons avec les crayons "de toi".
