Revisit the Chalk
Go back to your bowls of chalk again… it should be about three days since you set it up. If not, come back here after you hit the three-day mark.
Make some observations and write them in your journal under "Day 3". Take some time today to look carefully and think about the following questions. You may have to do a little research.
- Is this chemical or physical weathering?
- In that larger category, which more specific process does it match? Why do you think so?
- Earlier you looked up what chalk is made of. Which rock type does this closely resemble?
- How does the vinegar affect the chalk?
Write your answers to your journal entry in the journal template. Save your journal for submission at the end of the unit.
