Zahlen
Let's pick up from there. First of all, you use "hundert" or "einhundert" if there are exactly 100 of something: einhundert Häuser, 100 houses; hundert Studenten, 100 students.
If there are 101, we add the one to the end of hundred, "hunderteins," 102 is "hundertzwei," 103 is "hundertdrei," etc. But there is no “und” between the hundert and the following number!
Let's look at some numbers beyond 100:
200 | zweihundert |
300 | dreihundert |
400 | vierhundert |
500 | fünfhundert |
600 | sechshundert |
700 | siebenhundert |
800 | achthundert |
900 | neunhundert |
1.000 | tausend |
2.000 | zweitausend |
Here are some more examples. Can you see the pattern?
121 | einhunderteinundzwanzig |
222 | zweihundertzweiundzwanzig |
335 | dreihundertfünfunddreißig |
550 | fünfhundertfünfzig |
