Welche Größe haben Sie?

In the previous text, you heard the sales person ask for a size. Be careful when shopping in Europe. You can find size conversion tables in stores and on the Internet (see link below), but when in doubt, try it on. A size “L” in Europe tends to be smaller than a size “L” in the U.S. Ask or look for the “Umkleidekabine,” the fitting room.

Size Conversion Table

To ask for the sales person’s advice or opinion, you can use:
Passt das (die Bluse, die Hose, etc.) mir? (Does this fit?)
Steht das (das Hemd. der Rock, etc.) mir? (Do I look good in it?)
Wie sieht das (die Farbe, das Kleid) aus?   (How does it look?)

To express your opinion, you might say:
Das (die Hose, das Hemd) ist zu eng/zu weit/zu groß/zu klein. This is too tight/wide/large/small.
