Preparation and Documentation
The information below will help the facilitator of each group be prepared for the SAT Mathematics webinar. Please be sure to download all of the documentation in advance of the webinar. In addition, you are encouraged to join the Schoology group titled, Mathematics for DoDEA Educators Grades 6-12. The access code to join the group is 8C7V2-V48DW.
Technology Support Required
The Mathematics Webinar will involve discussion and interaction between staff at DoDEA headquarters and participating educators.
In order to promote the most conducive environment for this interaction to occur, we recommend the following:
- Educators participate in a group environment with the following: computer, large screen, and projector.
- Work with local ET and IT staff to ensure that the materials necessary for the room (screen, speakers, projectors, and microphone) are all available and provisioned for use.
- Speakers connected to the computer where the audio can be heard by everyone in the room.
- A well-functioning microphone connected to the computer where participants can be heard during the webinar.
- One person manning the computer station during the webinar. This person will type collective responses from the group for the discussion prompts and control the mute/unmute functions of the microphone when the group request audio permissions to share verbal responses.
- During the webinar, groups will need to view the video clip, 7th & 8th Grade Math - Comparing Linear Functions: problem 1 - part b
- Please conduct a “test run” of the video beforehand to make sure that it will play through and that audio and video controls are working.

Group Activity After the Webinar
After the online portion of the webinar, groups will meet offline to continue to explore the SAT website and resources (1.5 hours).
Please download and copy the following for each participant for use during the offline phase of the meeting:
- Test Specifications for the Redesigned SAT booklet - Math Portion (pp. 137 – 197 only using PDF electronic page numbers; corresponds to pp. 131 – 191 for printed page numbers).

Exit Ticket
At the end of the meeting, facilitators are asked to complete an Exit Ticket which summarizes that group’s responses.
The Exit Ticket is anonymous and will allow HQ to determine the effectiveness of the webinar and next steps needed to support DoDEA’s transition to the redesigned SAT mathematics test.
Please click the link to access the Exit Ticket.
