Advanced HTML: Hyperlinks In a previous section, you learned how to 'markup' text in an HTML document using common formatting tags (paragraph tags, heading tags, emphasis tags, and list tags). In this section, you will be introduced to the hyperlink or the 'Hypertext' aspect of the Hypertext Markup Language (HTML). As you learned in Module 1, the Internet has been around, in some form or another, since 1960.
