So as you read previously, the Internet has been around in some format since the 1960s; however, the first real image wasn't posted to the internet until 1993. Think about that...thirty-three years of the internet without embedded images. Thankfully, with HTML, you can create visually-appealing, informative web pages using images. In this section, you will learn the basics of web images and learn how to use HTML to embed images into a web page.
