Improving Communication

Along with transportation came advancements in communication. The federal government was crucial in making these advancements, especially in terms of the expansion of the postal service. Between 1790 and 1830, the number of post offices increased from seventy-five to over eight thousand. With this expansion, the nation enhanced its system of communication, making it easier to send letters, correspondence, newspapers, and magazines. Such advancement led to a more informed and unified nation.
