The capital city of Caracas is located in a valley in the northern part of the country, and is close to the Caribbean Sea. It is a fairly modern city that celebrates its past with many commemorative monuments. With a population of over 2 million people, Caracas is also home to the nation’s stock exchange and nationalized oil company, Petróleos de Venezuela, S.A. |
Roughly 25 million people live in the South American country of Venezuela. Located in the northeast region of the continent, Venezuela is a nation with diverse geography. Venezuela has part of the northern extension of the Andes Mountain range and other mountain tracks, islands, Caribbean coast, and flatlands that are referred to as the llanos.
