Lines and the Coordinate Plane: Slope of a Line

Slope of a Line on a Graph

The formula for slope is the difference, or change, in y over the difference, or change, in x. We can inspect a graph to determine the slope using the same principle.

Presentation Example: Slope of a Line on a Graph

Let’s work though an example of how to find the slope of a line given a graph. Select the play button to begin the example, and then use the solve button to view the solution and use the navigation buttons to pause/stop the example. View the presentation as often as you would like, and take notes as you follow along. Be sure to set your volume at a reasonable level before you begin.
