Types of Angles

In the last section, you learned about right angles and straight angles.  Obviously, not all angles are right or straight.

If an angle measures more than 0° but less than 90°, the angle is acute.

Angle ABC below is an acute angle.

= angle A B C is smaller than 90 degrees

If an angle measures more than 90° but less than 180°, the angle is obtuse.

Angle DEF below is an obtuse angle.

angle D E F is larger than 90 degrees

Sometimes, we are interested in angles larger than 180°.

When we are measuring the part of the angle that is more than 180°, we are referring to the reflex angle.
