Points
Points are the basic building blocks of geometry. A point represents a fixed location in space. It has no dimension. That means that even though we usually represent a point with a dot, it actually has no length, width, or thickness.
Points can be named any capital letters.
A and B represent different points because they represent different locations. Notice that when we name points, we use a capital letter.
You may recall from algebra that the location of a point can be given as a set of coordinates
(x, y). Keep this in mind because we’ll use coordinates later in the course.
