Introduction
Welcome to Le temps libre!

Baseball arrived in Québec in 1923. Although that
year, the team came in last place, baseball had made its debut. In 1946,
after World War II, the Quebec Braves were part of the Canadian-American
League. In 1979, the Montreal Expos were granted a National League expansion
team. In 1994, an American brought professional baseball back to Quebec
City. The team is called Les Capitales.
Welcome to Le temps libre. You must keep in mind that fluency in French (or
any foreign language) does not happen over night. It may seem to be a
very slow process to you but it is one that is achieved the more you practice
and seek ways to use your new skills.
In Le temps libre you will:
- talk about sports and other activities
- learn additional expressions to talk about how you feel
- learn additional cognate patterns
- learn additional expressions to talk about who items belong to
- talk about activities that happened in the past
- talk about what hobbies or activities you like to do in your spare time
As you work, keep in mind the symbols that will help you to remember what it is you are going to be doing throughout the course. If you have forgotten those, you can look back at them to keep them in mind.
