CultureLe dîner
The third meal of the day in French-speaking countries is called le dîner. Le dîner is generally eaten at around 8 PM. It is often a light meal, consisting of a soup, a salad and cheese. Our third meal of the day, in contrast, is our large meal. In French-speaking countries the main meal of the day is traditionally lunch.

In French-speaking countries, mealtimes are times that are to be enjoyed with family and friends. Families generally sit together during mealtimes and share the events of their day during that time. Attitudes about eating and spending time together during mealtime are quite different from those of the United States. In your research, you are most likely finding some very interesting facts about mealtimes in the French-speaking world.

If you are not able to do an activity such as the one above, you must go back and practice the vocabulary. Have you written your unit vocabulary in your notebook? Have you done the activities many times? If you struggle with new material, it is probably because you lack the practice in the area of the vocabulary. Remember that it is recommended that you practice your vocabulary at least fifteen minutes daily.
