Introduction
Bienvenue à La cuisine!
Markets are interesting places
to visit to learn about the foods that are eaten in a country. Many people
from francophone countries like to go shopping on a daily basis because
they prefer to have fresh foods as opposed to frozen or canned foods.
The market place is a very colorful place, with an incredible variety
of fruit, vegetables, dairy products, meats, breads and pasteries. There
are even foods that we don't eat in the United States. In Unit Eight,
we are going to learn to talk about mealtimes and foods that we like to
eat.
La Cuisine!
Une fois de plus... félicitations! Congratulations again. You now
know how to say many things that you didn't know prior to this course.
You must keep in mind that fluency in French (or any foreign language)
does not happen over night. It may seem to be a very slow process to you
but it is one that is achieved the more you practice and seek ways to
use your new skills.
In La Cuisine you will:
- talk about foods
- learn to order food and converse in a restaurant
- learn the partitive article in French
- learn additional factors in making a sentence negative in French
- learn about dining habits in the French speaking world
As you work, keep in mind the symbols that will help you to remember what it is you are going to be doing throughout the course. If you have forgotten those, you can look back at them to keep them in mind.
