Section One - Part F
The little words we need to focus on now are in bold above. Remember that, generally, any of the forms of aller are followed by à, which means "at" or "to." As you can see in the examples above, sometimes à changed to au. Do we say la magasin or le magasin? You know that magasin is masculine and that we say le magasin. So, what you need to remember here is that à + le = au. The other thing to notice is that if le is in front of a noun that begins with a vowel, it becomes l'. But, you already knew that, didn't you? See if you can tell what the following should be, au, à la or à l'. Click on the word in bold to see the correct answer.
Go to the Discussion 1f and say where you generally go on four different days of the week. You should use à la, au or à l' in your statements. Ask two questions of your classmates, inquiring where they go on different days and respond to at least one question while you are there. Use what you have learned in this course and write in complete sentences. This assignment is worth 12 points.
