Political Socialization of Immigrants

The government has a vested interest in not only socializing natural born citizens through programs at schools; they also try to ensure that naturalized citizens have adopted the same political culture as mainstream Americans. Immigrants wishing to become citizens do so through a naturalization process which includes not only a course of study in citizenship but a test on it as well.
