Properties of a Rhombus

Next, let's discuss the properties of a rhombus.

ABDC is a rhombus.

Rhombus ABDC with diagonals AD and CB that meet at point O.

A rhombus is a parallelogram with all four sides congruent. A rhombus has all the properties of a parallelogram, with the addition of two more properties.

  1. If a parallelogram is a rhombus, then its diagonals are perpendicular.
  2. If a parallelogram is a rhombus, then each diagonal bisects a pair of opposite angles.

One more note, a square has the same properties as a rectangle, except all the sides of a square are congruent.
