Exponential and Logarithmic Functions: Introduction

Algebra 2, Exponential and Logarithmic Functions, Bank Building sign

Suppose you have some money to invest in a savings account at the bank. How much money will that account earn after 5 years? After 10 years? Should you invest now or wait till the interest rate changes? How long should you keep the money in the account? You may be asking how you could answer these questions. Exponential functions can help. In this unit we will be discussing exponential functions and their inverse, logarithmic functions. We will discuss how to graph these functions and how to find their domain and range. We will also work through solving both exponential and logarithmic functions.
